John’s love for cars started at a young age. Not only did he have the biggest Matchbox collection you’ve ever seen, but he often tinkered with his parents’ cars growing up.
As a teen, he was drawn to racing and bought his first car, a Datsun 280z, as soon as he turned 16. It wasn’t long after that he decided to put a 350 Chevy into it.
So he reached out to a local machine shop to help build the engine. That experience got John hooked on drag racing, engine building, and machining.
Thirty-two years later, John’s built over 630 motors. And although he started as an engine builder, he quickly found that the quality of machine work in town wasn’t to his standards.
So he decided to learn all about engine machining and exotic motors to offer these services to his clients too.
John’s expertise and quality of work are well known and recognized in Eastern Washington. Besides his machining and engine work, he’s been asked to teach various subjects at two schools. These include automotive and aviation welding, electricity, physics, and automotive and aviation maintenance.
He’s a member of the National Hotrod Association and a bronze-level inspector. And John’s also an FAA licensed aviation mechanic.
In his free time, you’ll often find John inspecting race cars at local tracks. In addition, he examines vehicles for safety issues and evaluates personal protective equipment.
